Why

Decision-Making today builds on research showing that decisions fail half of the time. In business, the top casualties of a poor decision-making process are reputation, long-term growth, employee morale, productivity, revenue and profitability. Our goal is to promote more effective, ethical decision making.

Your Daily Decision

Your Daily Decision in Meadville, PAThe single most important daily decision that we make is about how we are going to react to the world around us. We can choose to be positive or we can allow circumstances control us.

For example, every morning there are hundreds of things that we encounter before we head out the door. How we choose to react can set the tone for the rest of our day. How do you react to some of these situations:

  • You find yourself out of toothpaste, shaving cream, lipstick or deodorant.
  • You spill coffee on your clothes and have to change.
  • The clothes you planned on wearing are still in the laundry.

Will you react by saying the day is going to be bad because it started out this way, or will you shake it off as just an inconvenience and remain positive about the rest of the day?

What if:

  • You realize you are almost out of gas and have to stop on your way to work thereby making you late.
  • Someone cuts you off in traffic.
  • You have a flat tire.

Will you let this ruin your day or will you realize these are just part of life and move forward with a positive outlook?

I make the daily decision to think of these inconveniences as things I might have anticipated or inconveniences that can be easily remedied. My oldest son takes the other approach and sees these events as evil omens. I remain positive and open to possibilities while he gets down and discouraged. I like my approach better.

There is a school of thought about the “Law of Attraction”. You can read about it in “Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting” by Lynn Grabhorn. The idea is that positive attracts positive and negative attracts negative. Now I cannot prove the “Law” but why risk it, just make it your daily decision to be happy. I know for certain that I am happier than my son.
